All knobs, levers, and dials actuate as they should and click nicely into their detents with precision. The metering system works perfectly, as do the LED lights within the viewfinder.

The lens is very nice, with perfect glass, oil-free aperture blades, and clean exterior. The aperture blades snap rapidly into place, the aperture ring rotates with fine mechanical precision, and the focus ring spins with a nicely weighted fluidity.

The Yashica FX3 is a popular and capable mechanical camera with exposure meter assistance. It allows the photographer to control shutter speed and aperture for full creative control, while showing proper exposure via a series of LED lights inside the viewfinder. For this reason, it's possible to frame, compose, focus, and set exposure values without ever removing your eye from the viewfinder.

It uses the Contax/Yashica bayonet lens mount, which means all manual-focus Yashica/Contax lenses, including the superb Carl Zeiss T* lenses intended for the Contax line will fit this camera. Additionally, the included lens can be fitted to today's mirrorless cameras by way of an inexpensive adapter.

This camera is the 2000 model, which improves the maximum shutter speed to 1/2000th of a second.

The included fast prime standard lens is a perfect focal length for general purpose photography. It will perfectly capture snapshots, portraits, product shots, landscapes, and most any other type of photo desired by the average shooter. The fast aperture of F/1.9 allows for excellent low-light shooting, perfect for street photography and creating excellent bokeh.
