This camera is fully functional and ready to produce another lifetime of fantastic photos. However it is being sold at a discount because the aperture blades of the lens have some oil on them and the camera is a bit dinged here and there (the extent of which can be seen in the photos). In addition, the battery cover is from a different camera, but it works, and the light meter and camera are otherwise fully functional!

The camera is mechanically excellent. Everything functions as it should. The film compartment, pressure plate, mirror box, battery compartment, focusing screen, pentaprism, and viewfinder are all clean (with only minimal dust commensurate to a camera of this vintage). The dials, knobs, and levers all actuate exactly as they should. The light meter is fully functional, and all shutter speeds are accurate.

The lens is similarly excellent, with no mechanical damage. The glass elements are free of fungus, balsam separation, cleaning marks, scratches, or other optical aberrations. The aperture blades actuate beautifully. The focus ring spins with nice weight, and the aperture ring clicks with mechanical precision. Cosmetically the lens is in fantastic condition with minimal wear to the paintwork.

The Canon TLb is an enthusiast level camera from the era of the F1. Similar impeccable build quality to the professional F1, it lacks some of the higher end features of that professional camera while still remaining a capable and well-made camera.

It has a very capable shutter that works from speeds of 1/500th of a second down to 1 second (and bulb mode). The light meter is coupled to both the lens aperture and shutter speed dial, which enables extremely precise metering.
