This camera is in very fine condition and is fully functional and mechanically perfect. The battery compartment, film compartment, and mirror housing are all perfect and spotless with no debris or dust. The viewfinder is crystal clear. All buttons function perfectly, as do all lights, LCD displays, and camera systems (such as metering and autofocus). There is a minor bit of damage to the threads underneath the viewfinder cover (the viewfinder cover still screws in completely and essentially covers the damaged area) and this can be seen in the photos of the rear of the camera. Due to this imperfection, the camera is being sold at a discount.
The lens is perfect, with clear glass, bright cosmetics, clean and dry aperture blades, and unmarred filter threads/mount. The aperture snaps quickly into place, the aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision, and the zoom and focus rings spin as they should. The aperture ring lock (for autoexposure control) works perfectly.
This versatile zoom lens runs a massive range of focal lengths, from 24 to 70mm. This allows it to be a fantastic do-it-all lens. Shot wide open it creates fairly good subject isolation, and when stopped down to F/4 and above the lens becomes exceedingly sharp and crisp, producing amazingly fine detail. It's lightweight, compact, and a perfect lens for snapshots, street photography, portrait work, landscapes, and any general photography.
The N8008s was called the F-801 in Japanese and European markets. Here in North America it was named the N8008s, and it was Nikon's highest level enthusiast camera, only surpassed by the truly professional F4.
This camera quite literally will do anything any photographer could possibly ask of it. It features every standard shooting mode (MASP), spot metering, autofocus (improved over the non-S version of the N8008), Nikon's ubiquitous F mount, and many more pro-spec features.
This is also a camera that's very well known for reliability and robust build quality.
Even higher end features abound, such as a depth of field preview button, maximum shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second (very fast!), multiple exposure shooting, and the very advanced flash sync speed of 1/250th of a second.
This is just one of those cameras that was created for the highest level consumer, and because of today's marketplace, is sold at an unbelievably low price for the amount of features and capability. One of the best bargains in photography.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped immediately.
