Nikon FA 35mm Film Camera with Sigma 28-80mm F/3.5-4.5 Zoom Lens, UV Filter and Lens Cap
Here we have a nice condition Nikon FA 35mm film SLR camera with a Sigma 28-80mm F/3.5-4.5 macro focusing zoom lens, UV filter, and lens cap.
This camera is fully functional and ready to shoot. It comes with new batteries installed.
Everything works as it should. The film compartment, battery compartment, pentaprism, viewfinder, focusing screen, and mirror box area all free of dust and debris. All knobs, dials, levers, and switches actuate as they should. The shutter is in excellent condition and operates perfectly at all speeds, and in all shooting modes. The autoexposure system works in all modes, and manual settings work correctly. There is a point of damage on one corner of the body, and while this does not impact the camera's functionality, for this reason the camera is being sold at a discount.
The lens is in great condition as well. Filter threads are pristine, glass is free of fungus, optical coating is in perfect shape, aperture blades are snappy and oil free, mount is unmarred. It's a truly versatile value lens, capable of taking nearly any type of photograph due to its wide range of focal lengths. It covers from 28mm (wide angle) to 80mm (tele and portrait), which means it can be used for everything from street photography to snap shots, portraits to landscapes.
The Nikon FA is commonly regarded as being among the very best electro-mechanical Nikon SLRs, and many photographers consider it to be among the most advanced Nikon film cameras ever made. It is the first Nikon camera to offer all four major shooting modes; manual, aperture priority, shutter priority and program autoexposure (the last two modes available when fitted with AIS lenses, as the included lens is).
The complete list of incredible technical achievements made by this camera is long, and more than we can get into here. Suffice it to say that this camera is an unbelievably high quality electro-mechanical creation, the likes of which are rarely seen or experienced.
The FA was the most sophisticated member of the remarkably long-lived, classic Nikon compact F-series SLRs and was built upon a compact but rugged copper-aluminum alloy chassis developed from the ones used by the earlier Nikon FM, FE, FM2 and FE2.
The Nikon FA is a historically significant camera. It was the first camera to offer a multi-segmented (or matrix or evaluative) exposure light meter, called Automatic Multi-Pattern (AMP). It had a built-in microprocessor computer programmed to automatically analyze different segments of the light meter field of view and select a corrected exposure.
The Nikon FA was Nikon's high-technology standard bearer, sandwiched between the sturdy, but basic Nikon FE2 and the professional-level Nikon F3 SLR (introduced in 1980). With its advanced AMP meter, Nikon fully expected that many professional photographers, as well as amateurs, would buy it.
It is an affordable alternative to Nikon's professional F-series cameras, and because the FA upholds an incredible level of quality and performance compared to its professional cousins these cameras are well-known for being in some ways superior to the professional offerings.
Additionally of note, this camera uses Nikon's ubiquitous F mount, meaning all Nikon F mount lenses and all 3rd party F mount lenses will natively mount to this camera. This lens can also be used on many other Nikon cameras, and on today's mirrorless cameras using inexpensive adapters.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped immediately.
