This camera is the kind of camera that's perfect for anyone who is looking to have fun with film, and create high quality images without difficult controls or a steep learning curve. It is a fully automated camera with user-selectable shooting modes. Because of this, it's a camera that can operate like a point and shoot (frame your shot and have fun), but can still produce amazing images due to its ability to use outstanding quality lenses. 

In addition to fully automated Program mode, there are five switchable shooting modes offered including Portrait mode, Landscape mode, Close-up mode, Night mode, and Sports Action mode. These various modes do a great job of setting the correct shutter speed and aperture to achieve the best exposures possible in many shooting situations. 

Featuring auto-focus and switchable manual focus, the camera continues to give the shooter options. However it is not possible to manually set the aperture or shutter speed of this camera.

The included lens is a very fine example of a capable Minolta-made autofocus lens. The multicoated glass corrects distortion and solves optical aberrations such as color-fringing and lens flares. The focal lengths from 35-70mm run the full range of wide standard to portrait lens, making it possible for this lens to achieve the ends of almost every shooter out there. 

It accepts any of Minolta's excellent A-mount lenses, which means that this is a camera that can grow with you as you buy more lenses for specialized shooting. 

The camera uses two CR2 batteries (not included).
