Here we have a gorgeous example of the Carl Zeiss Jena Silvarem 6x30 binoculars. An historically excellent if simple unit, the Silvarem 6x30 binocular is a sharp, well-made and extremely long-lived model that works as well today as it ever did.

The body shows beautiful patina. Serial number indicates a pre-WWII construction. Glass lens elements are clean and free of scratches, haze, and fungus. All mechanisms work as they should, including the central focusing dial and the eyepiece focus adjuster.

Features - 6 times magnification, 30mm lens diameter, 8.5 degree angular field of view, linear field of view 150m/1000m, 5mm exit pupil, 12mm eye relief, minimum focusing distance of 3 meters.

These binoculars tend to be reserved for collecting, but they can also be used just as well today as at any point in the last fifty years. They are excellent for birdwatching, boating, hiking, and stargazing, or for World War reenactments.
