Yashica Mat 124 G TLR Medium Format Film Camera with Yashica Bayonet Filter, Case - Excellent
Here we have a gorgeous Yashica TLR with original case, and bayonet lens filter. It is in exceptional condition cosmetically and is mechanically excellent and fully functional.
This Yashica Mat 124 G was made in the 1980s and was the final and most advanced TLR produced by Yashica. It features a four-element 80mm f/3.5 Yashinon taking lens and an extremely bright 80mm F/2.8 Yashinon viewing lens. The Copal leaf shutter is capable of speeds from 1 second to 1/500th of a second, plus Bulb mode.
The camera features a wonderful light meter for measuring light in a scene. This meter is coupled to the camera's controls, and employs a match-needle system. Adjust your settings until the needle aligns with the light meter reading and you'll have a perfect exposure. This meter is battery powered and works as it should. A new battery is included.
Both lenses are in excellent condition. All glass elements are free of fungus, haze, scratches, and all other optical anomalies. The aperture actuates beautifully and the aperture blades are unmarred. The leaf shutter blades are free of oil and corrosion and actuate perfectly at all shutter speeds.
The focus action is smooth and precise, and the waist level viewfinder is clean and sharp. Magnifier and sports finder work as they should. Frame advance counter works correctly, as do all other knobs, dials, levers, and switches.
The camera, generally speaking, is tight and solid. All mechanisms are unworn, and the film door clicks into its locked position with excellent force. The feet are intact and the tripod mount is unmarred. The pressure plate is in great condition and switches from 120 to 220 film position as it should.
This camera is an excellent TLR, and a great choice for those just starting out due to its included light meter.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped immediately.
