Minolta MD 50mm F/1.4 - Vintage Legacy Lens with Metal Screw In Lens Cap and Minolta Rear Cap - Pristine Fast Prime Lens

94.00

Here we have one of the most sought after Minolta lenses, the MD 50mm F/1.4 with an incredible screw-in metal front and original Minolta rear cap. Lens is in pristine condition.

This lens is absolutely fantastic. From the highest quality range of lenses that Minolta ever made, it features the absolute best optics, impeccable build quality, amazing compactness, and superb "feel". The Focus ring spins with a perfectly weighted fluidity, and the aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision unparalleled in the world of vintage Japanese cameras.

The 50mm ƒ/1.4 is optically exceptional for a myriad of reasons. For one, it's incredibly fast. With a maximum aperture of 1.4 it's able to capture excellent photos in extreme low-light situations. This makes it perfect for street photography, low-light portraits, product photography, action shooting, and general snapshots.

When shooting wide open, the lens creates incredible bokeh and has the ability to isolate subjects for maximum impact.

Stopped down it becomes incredibly sharp very quickly. Even at ƒ/2 there's unmatched sharpness across the entire frame, and go further to ƒ/4 or ƒ/8 and you'll be shooting one of the sharpest lenses ever made.

Minolta's exceptional optic coatings ensure complete mitigation of flaring, ghosting, and chromatic aberration. Even in the most high contrast scenes these optical artifacts are nowhere to be seen.

This lens is made for the Minolta SR mount (MC/MD) and is also fully functional on Program Mode Minoltas of the later years. It can also be used on numerous digital cameras, Micro 4/3, and mirror-less cameras when paired with suitable adapters. This lens on any camera will give absolutely astounding low light photos, and incredible crispness and detail.

The lens will be shipped immediately and packaged securely to ensure safe delivery.
