Aside from this blemish, the glass elements are clean and free of fungus, haze, balsam separation and scratches. The aperture blades are snappy and oil free. The aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision, and the focus ring spins with luxurious weight.

This 50mm lens is an excellent focal length for snapshots, portraits, landscapes and general purpose photography. The fast aperture of 1.4 is excellent for subject isolation, portrait work, producing creamy bokeh, and for low-light shooting such as the shots made in night-time street photography.

The focus ring spins smoothly with perfectly weighted fluidity, and the aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision.

This lens will mate to many DSRL and mirrorless digital cameras through the use of inexpensive available adapters, or mount naturally to any Canon FL or FD mount camera. These include the ever-popular AE-1, A-1, etc.
