This lens uses Canon's Super Spectra Coating, the best of the era, to ensure reduced flares, ghosts, chromatic aberration, while improving sharpness, clarity, and color. The fast maximum aperture of F/2.8 allows for producing excellent bokeh and subjects isolation, making this lens an amazing portrait lens. Stopping the lens down creates exceptional sharpness and deep depth-of-field throughout the entire frame.
