This 50mm lens is an excellent focal length for snapshots, portraits, landscapes and general purpose photography. The fast aperture of 1.8 is excellent for subject isolation, portrait work, producing creamy bokeh, and for low-light shooting such as the shots made in night-time street photography.

The focus ring spins smoothly with perfectly weighted fluidity, and the aperture ring clicks into its detents with mechanical precision.

This lens will mate to many DSRL and other camera mounts with the numerous available adapters, or naturally to any Canon FD mount camera.
